Redirect jira url

David Lowe November 7, 2012

Hello,

We just purchased a 10 license user for jira. I downloaded jira-5.1.8-standalone that is running on CentOS 6.1. I have jira up and running, however I need the url to redirected from bdj-jira:8082:/secure/DashBoard.jspa to just be bdj-jira. I have looked all over the web and read through some of your documentation and cannot find out how to do this.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi, you can change the port from 8082 to 80 and this will be bdj-jira.

Refer to https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Changing+JIRA's+TCP+Ports for more information.

Hello,

I have another program that listens on port 80, that being a wiki.

By typing bdj-wki I get redirected to the wiki home page with no problems since it is based on a Document root path and I just make a simple change in the httpd.conf file.

I would like to type bdj-jira and have it do the same thing. Problem here is there is no document root /secure/Dashboard.jspa for a redirect in the httpd.conf file.

Both bdj-wiki and bdj-jira point to the same ip address.

Thanks,

Dave

You won't be able to do this unless there are 2 IPs assigned or they are in separate servers. You can try using CNAME on the DNS side...
