Reassign a Comment to a different user.

After a Comment is added to an issue by, for example "User A", is there a way to change the user of the comment to a different user, say "User B". Reason is that I'm prevented from deleting "User A" in User Management because of the comment he added.

No, you can't. As far as I know you can not delete a user if he is reporter, assignee or project lead but otherwise you could.

Have you thought about simply deactivating the user?

Thank you Udo. I was easily able to reassign issue reported by "User A" to "User B". Looking at the Atlassian documentation, I removed application access from "User A" and removed all groups associated with the user.

Thanks again.

@Elliot, don't forget to accept @Udo's answer as the correct answer.
