Reasons to Upgrade

Deleted user December 1, 2013

I am new to JIRA and would like to know other than the obvious (security) why to upgrade to version 6. I am currently using v5.1.8. I have read most of the documentation and release notes but still dont see many reasons to upgrade. I know I am going to get a "if it aint broke dont fix it" type of reaction when I propose the upgrade. I KNOW THE SECURITY IMPLICATIONS. These are engineers and dont care about security.

Thanks for the info.

There's loads of stuff in the release notes - faster search, background re-index, web hooks, column order in gadgets, the list goes on. (That was just 5.2 by the way)

Hi Mike

Every release, besides security issues, will provide bug fixes and new features. That is why we always recommend to upgrade.

Hope it helps,

Ricardo Carracedo.
