Rapid boards burndown charts guideline is strange somehow :s

Ruben Sadoyan April 9, 2013

Hi guys,

We are using Jira rapid boards and hours burndown charts to trac teams progress.

Somehow we kind of allways trying to chace ideal burndown (guideline) and feel we should but graph says are are above (so not managing it).

I did manual math and found that while sum or remaining time for all in sprint tasks (incl. subtasks) is correct, ideal burndown (guideline) drawn a bit below than should be (given measuring working time left as # of people * 7 hrs/day * days remaining).

Two questions:

  • Where working hours per day are set used for burndown guideline?
  • Where else might be the issue?

Thanks for clarifications in advance,

Aquarius.

You can configure the number of hours in a workday like explained here :

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+Time+Tracking

Greenhopper should pick this up.

I found this helpful piece of information here : https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/69480/how-do-i-change-the-time-tracking-hours-per-day-from-8-to-10
