Rapid boards and global rank in Labs

Recently the request came up for users to be able to see their tasks in a prioritized view across projects. I saw that we had Rapid Boards enabled in Labs so I thought I'd play around with that. I hit a wall though trying to figure out how to actually rank things across projects. Reading the docs, I found info about the new Global Rank field but when I try to use it in a query, I get errors saying it doesn't exist.

Does anyone know if Global Rank is available in the JIRA 4.3.4 version of Labs? If it is, do I need to enable it somewhere? If it's not, is there a workaround?
