Hello everyone, I would like to know how I can create issues with multiple start and end dates that appear on the calendar. I only see one start date and one due date, but there are many projects that develop over time, with 'pauses' in between, and I would prefer not to create subtasks. I know I can create custom date fields, as many as I want, but on the calendar, I can only get a single start date and a single due date to display. How does Jira solve this?
Hi Xavier - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Unfortunately no, only Start Date and Due Date can be shown on the built-in calendar. You might explore one of the many add-on apps in the Marketplace for more functionality.

Hi @Xavier Alcaraz and welcome to the community!
Regarding your concern, to the best of my knowledge, Jira hasn't supported multiple time plans yet, and you're right about the custom fields, it won't be able to show in the calendar.
Another approach is to plan your tasks using Recurring Tasks. According to this article (How to create Recurring Tasks in Jira | Jira Guru), Recurring Tasks are tasks or activities that need to be completed regularly, such as every day, week, month, or year. They are repetitive in nature and are essential for maintaining consistency and progress in any project.
Jira offers 02 ways to plan recurring tasks: manually and with an automation setup (please refer to the mentioned article to understand how to set up automation rules). It could be useful in your case, however, I must say it will simply be a duplication of your task.
From my own experience, we're using TeamBoard Proscheduler, which assists users with planning multiple time plans for one task and allows recurring task planning (attached image).
Let me know if this helps.

Maybe a small read-up on slicing issues could fix the pickle of multiple start/end dates.

Thank you for the suggestion! I appreciate the educational approach, but in this case, I was hoping for a more specific solution to help address the issue directly

I prefer giving somebody a fishing rod rather than a fish. Thanks for taking it lightly,
Hope it softens the blow that it's not possible in Jira.

Well, thanks for the fishing rod! Now let’s hope I don’t reel in more problems than fish! ;-)
