Project Metrics plugin redirects to kick-ass issue navigator

Hi all,

we are running the latest version of Project Metrics on JIRA 5.1.8

The plugin basically works, but whenever you click on the aggregated sum of the "aggregator" dashboard gadget, it takes you to the "kick-ass" issue navigator instead of the regular issue navigator, which is annoying.

I talked to the Atlassian Support and they showed me how to disable the kick-ass navigator and the /issues/ redirection. However, if I do so, the aggreator gadget will display a "404 NOT FOUND" error when clicking on the sum.

Has anybody else these problems?

Or @ProjectMetrics developers: Is this a known issue for you guys? Can you please fix this?

Thanks :)

Cheers

Florian

Hi Florian,

We have investigated the issue and found the cause of it. When the kick-ass navigator is disabled the JIRA url pattern for issue navigation also changes. This is why the 404 not found message is returned by JIRA.

You have the following options to make the plugin work:

  • When running JIRA 5.1.8+: keep the kick-ass issue navigator running. The plugin will use it to display the results, but the user still has the option to use the old version for other search tasks.
  • Upgrade to JIRA 6.0+ and the will not occur anymore

Hope this helps?! Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or remarks!

Hey there,

does anyone know if the ProjectMetrics plugin people are still around?

Cheers

Florian

Hi Florian,

We are currently investigating this issue at ACA IT Solutions. We will provide you an answer as soon as we have an update on this.

Hi Benji,

well I plan to upgrade to JIRA 6.2 within the next few months. However in the marketplace it says that your plugin only runs up to JIRA 6.1.8, are you going to release a version soon that will also run with JIRA 6.2?

Cheers

Florian

Hi Florian,

We have a new release ready and we plan to add it to the market place within the next days. JIRA 6.2 will also be supported and you can perfectly update to that version :)

Regards

Benji

Hi again Florian,

We have speeded up things a bit and a new release is already available on the marketplace.

Cheers,

Benji

Hi Benji,

I have now Project Metrics 1.3.1 running on my test environment (JIRA 6.2).

Pro: The redirection to the normal issue navigator works (yay!)

Con: I still receive the same exceptions in my log as I do in my productive (JIRA 5.1.8) environment when someone opens a dashboard with the "Aggregadtion gadget"
