Project Configurator: Does one license suffice?

Sverre Moe June 5, 2014

We were thinking of using the Project Configurator to export a project configuration from one Jira to another Jira.

The jira instance we wish to export the project from are not ours (on a different domain) and running an old version 5.0. Our Jira is running version 6.2.4.

Does this mean we have to purchase a license for this plugin on our jira and the other jira?

If you are going to export from the Jira 5.0 instance just once you could simply use an evaluation license (maybe I should not be saying this...). You could purchase a license for your production Jira 6.2.4 and that gives you the right to use the plugin also in associated development instances. So that could be a sensible long term arrangement.

Take into account that the plugin versions for Jira 5.0 and Jira 6.2.4 are different. For Jira 5.0 you have to use version 1.3.0-J50 and for Jira 6.2.4 version 1.3.0. You can find all of them in the "Version History" tab at the marketplace plugin page.
