Problem with application links

MadhanBabu June 11, 2013

Hello,

I get an error when connection Bamboo with Jira..

The Bamboo application is not able to connect to Jira. The logs from the Bamboo server reads:

2013-06-11 20:10:17,530 WARN [StreamsCompletionService::thread-7780] [ActivityProviderConnectionMonitorImpl$ActivityMonitorJob] Could not reach provider RB JIRA; it will be omitted from the stream. The connection will be retried in 5 minutes

Any clue why this could happen?

Also, it would be good to know if this application link is using RPC plugin under the hood to communicate..

Do you have proxy configured in front of JIRA and/or Bamboo that might be contributing towards this connection failure? To isolate if this is the case, access both JIRA and Bamboo directly via localhost:port or IP:port (bypassing proxy), update base URL of both instances to match the new URL, reconfigure application link between them and see if that helps.

Hi Hanis,

I tried to enter the jira application url with just the IP address : port, without any proxy..

But still the Bamboo application links administration page shows this wanring:

Application 'RB JIRA' seems to be offline

meanwhile, any idea how this application links work? Do they use RPC (SOAP methods) to communicate under the hood?

Thanks..
