Problem with alerts when assigning incident in JIRA 5.1

GG Service Desk October 16, 2012

Hi

We are finding that JIRA Notifications alerts for some users are not coming through to their email address. We have checked and they have the correct email details in and their email is working fine . Just when they assign a JIRA incident to someone and it gets assigned back to them they recive no notifcatio of this at all. It only happens with a few users not all . The report that the other users they assign tasks to are getting the notification.

At first they had a group email in as their email address . We got them to change it to their own email address but still they are not reciving any notifcations . Any help would be great .

From your statement "The report that the other users they assign tasks to are getting the notification." I am guessing it's because you have set the "Notify users of own changes" to No.

See if these initial checks help.

1. Make sure your outgoing mail settings are configured properly. Send a test mail and make sure you are receiving it.

2. Are users notified of their own changes in your global user preferences? Set this to Yes. You can do this by going to Administration Screen -> User Preferences

3. Make sure that your notification scheme is configured correctly
