Problem with Security levels, unable to see certain tickets.

We are experiencing issues with security levels. We have 4 different security levels defined, but users are not able to see all there tickets in boards.

I'm part of all 4 security levels but even I can only see tickets of 2 levels. We noticed this in boards and therefore started checking the board filters and column issue status mapping. The column mapping is ok because we see the ticket if we change the security level.

When checking the filters we noticed the same issue in the new issue search function but not in the old issue search function, in the old search I can see all tickets.

It seems that the boards are using the new search algorithm and that there is something wrong with that.

We contacted support and they did a temporary fix, now it's working.

There is a bug in the system : Adding groups to issue security results to no issues on the board:  https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-84840

Workaround

Assign security schemes via individual users or roles (attached to individual users).

OR:

Update the status of one of the issues in the filter. This should cause all of the filters issue security tickets to be added to the board correctly. 

Could you please check if the issue security level has a group added? If yes you can implement the workaround and see if it works.

Hi Prachi,

I had multiple user groups added to the security levels. Now I replaced all groups with individual users, but the tickets are still not visible.  My issue seems related to the new issue search because the filters are also not working. 

First we had 2 security levels and everything was working fine, the issue started when we increased the security levels to 4. Strange thing is that once in xx times the tickets are shown.


I will create a support ticket.
