Problem opening the default template in Excel for Mac

NTT Europe May 11, 2014

Hi,

After installing the latest release of the plugin, when I try to open the resulting xls after an export in Office for Mac, Excel complains that there are some errors and the resulting spreasheet has no formatting.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>

<recoveryLog xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/spreadsheetml/2006/main"><logFileName>Repair Result to template-5 06347.xml</logFileName><summary>Errors were detected in file 'Macintosh HD:Users:ogarcia:Downloads:template-5.xls'</summary><additionalInfo><info>Excel recovered your formulas and cell values, but some data may have been lost.</info></additionalInfo></recoveryLog>

Any ideas? Happy to help where needed...

Does the issue occur for one file only or for all files exported with JIRA?

Maybe you can try to open it with another alternative like openoffice:

https://www.openoffice.org

This editor also allows you to save the file again, so you might be able to open it with Excel for Mac afterwards.

Hi,

It works with OpenOffice, and if I save the file with OpenOffice, I can now then open it with Excel. Very weird. Does this also happen to you? Do you use Excel or OpenOffice?

Best

Sorry, one comment more. It only happens with the files exported with your plungin. The "regular" Jira Excel export works directly.

I usually use openoffice, altough I prefer MS Excel for more advanced usage.

It probably works when you export it with openoffice, because the exporter in openoffice generates correct excel files.

What I suggest is that you create a bug ticket by the makers of your plugin, because other users might experience the same bug:

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.zenofx.jira.dynamicreport

In the support tab you have an option to ask a question/report a bug.
