When I try to use the binary installer i get the following error, I have JIRA 6.2 installed, Is there anyway to make it work?
$ sudo ./atlassian-jira-6.3.8-x64.bin Unpacking JRE ... Starting Installer ... This will install JIRA 6.3.8 on your computer. OK [o, Enter], Cancel [c] o Choose the appropriate installation or upgrade option. Please choose one of the following: Express Install (use default settings) [1], Custom Install (recommended for advanced users) [2], Upgrade an existing JIRA installation [3, Enter] 3 Existing installation directory: [/data/opt/atlassian/jira] Sorry, we are unable to automatically upgrade your JIRA installation as it is not version 4.3 (or later) For more information see our documentation at the following URL: http://docs.atlassian.com/jira/docs-063/Upgrading+JIRA+Manually Finishing installation ...
Is there any way of debugging this to see why it thinks it is not a 6.2 installation?
It's not finding a valid installation of 6.2 in /data/opt/atlassian/JIRA - are you sure that's where your 6.2 was installed?

Yes. It is where Jira runs from, and there is no other Jira on the system.
