Possibility to restrict issue types in Jira based on groups

Hello Team,

I have  a requirement were I have to restrict issue types based on groups.

I.E there are 2 issue types bug and feature request. Admin group of the project should be able to view both issues in create screen whereas users should be able to see only bug.

is this possible by using script runner or by any other methods

Yes, you can add some validations to the create transition at the workflow to restrict the creation of the issue based on the groups of the current user.

I believe that will prevent creation, but they will still see it in the drop down list, which can be confusing to the user.
