Portfolio for JIRA: Permission Violation

Looks like this question has been asked before but didn't find a good solution yet.

I have JIRA 7.5.3 with JIRA Portfolio installed. 

I updated the permissions for JIRA Portfolio thinking that I had it right so users could create a new Portfolio plan.

But I have a permission violation every time I try to create a new plan.

Do I need Confluence or a confluence user created for this to work? I can't seem to find what might be amiss?

We do use Confluence but it's currently not linked to our JIRA Server instance.

Again, we have JIRA 7.5.3 hosted locally and I'm using an evaluation copy of JIRA portfolio, which seems to have installed correctly.

It seems that you have tried to perform an operation which you are not permitted to perform.

Got it figured out.

Had to add the AD group of JIRA users, not the jira-users. 

If you use Active Directory for JIRA access make sure you choose the right group.
