Permissions helper agrees user has permission but user cannot manage sprint

Melinda George November 8, 2017

We have had to limit the number of users with admin rights to JIRA since it requires confluence access.  However a user's permissions are setup at the project level and permission helper agrees they should be able to do something but when they try they are told they do not have that permission.

Put in an issue in the project and the users name.

Permission:  Manage Sprint

Result   Gene Rees has the 'Manage sprints' permission

Actual:  He cannot close the sprint and gets a message that he does not have the above permission.

Is this a known issue?  I cannot provide screenshots here but could send them and/or more info on our cloud account if that's helpful.

Hi Melinda

Just a thought, I've seen this where a board is showing items from more than one project. In this case, the person would need to have that permission for every project, even if the current sprint doesn't have items from all projects. Look carefully at the board filter to confirm where it is getting the items from
