We have a project whose project lead wants to manage people in and out of the project via updating the permission scheme. We want to offer that capability without giving access to the rest of administration.

Is it possible to give a user permission to update just permission schemes without access to the other administrative permissions? It looks like from here, the answer is no, but perhaps someone else has a workaround.

If there is a plugin that does this, that would be great.

Hello Joe,

currently just a JIRA Administrator can do that. I suggest to use the following approach :

- Define your permission scheme based on Project Roles

- Project Lead, that can manage role for the project, can update users/groups for each project role

Consequently, Project Lead can define permissions just editing the project roles.

Hope this helps,

Fabio

That works exactly as I'd hoped!
