Permission configuration of attachments, etc

Hi~

My question is that when the status of JIRA defect is closed, its attachments and problem links, except for the system administrator, do not have permission to modify, add and delete, but visually, how to configure them? Is it configured through workflow properties?

Hi @liusu ,

yes, you could setup this behaviour through workflow properties.

In particular, you can setup step/status properties like jira.permission.* .

Workflow properties | Administering Jira applications Data Center and Server 8.21 | Atlassian Documentation

Hope this helps,

Fabio

Thank you for your reply. I've seen your answers to similar questions on this site. I try to set it like this:

Set the attribute in the closed state of the workflow: JIRA permission. attach. group--jira-administrators

or

jira. permission. attachdeleteown. group--jira-administrators

jira. permission. attachdeleteall. group--jira-administrators

However, the result is that attachments cannot be deleted in all States of the workflow. They are visible and can be added. And has no effect on the problem link.

I need your professional guidance

Hi @liusu ,

please could you provide a screenshot of the place in which you added that property?

1、My workflow is like this

3、Attachment view for JIRA Administrators group

4、Attachment view for non JIRA AdministrFor the same workflow, the properties are set in the "R & D completed" status

The non JIRA Administrators group still has permission to add attachments。

In short, I hope that when the problem is "R & D completed", the attachment and problem link have no permission to modify, add or delete except the administrator group, but they should be visible.

Hi @liusu ,

Please add the following properties as step properties in your status:

  • jira.permission.attachdeleteall.group - jira-administrators
  • jira.permission.attach.group - jira-administrators

It should prevent all users (out of jira-administrators) to attach or delete files just for that status and not for all the others.

If you remove these properties, are users able to attach/delete files?

I just performed a test on my local env and it works like a charm.

Thank you. The add and delete permissions of attachments are working. How to set the add and delete permissions of problem links?

  • jira.permission.link.group - jira-administrators
