Performance testing: JMeter or The Grinder?

Daniel Tandowski November 4, 2014

Hi,

I need to run some basic performance tests on a new JIRA instance. However, Atlassian's documentation does not make it clear which method is recommended (or more recent).

Documentation for the most recent JIRA version includes this article describing performance testing using JMeter: Performance Testing Scripts. However, a warning on that page says: "we would recommend our JIRA Performance Testing with Grinder page".

The performance testing with Grinder documentation seems to be out of date (or at least older than the JMeter docs). Can you please let me know which one of these is the more current or recommended performance testing approach?

Thanks.

Kindly Provide the detail information of Performance Testing on jira Software, Either with Jmeter tool or By NGrinder and it could be much appreciated if you add both the details.

Hi Daniel,

Were you able to run performance tests. I have downloaded JMETER tar.gz file but I am unable to find load testing scripts. Link https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira/performance-testing-scripts-222200899.html says:

=============

  • The load testing scripts and resources which are available in our public Maven repository — Please choose the version that most closely matches your JIRA version and download the ZIP or Gzip file in that directory. If in doubt, download the ZIP file archive

==============

But load testing script link is not working: https://maven.atlassian.com/public/com/atlassian/performance/jira/performance-test/

regards

Shradha
