Password policy in JIRA

Rumceisz February 10, 2014

Hi All,

we administer a 9000+ users JIRA and the number of users are increasing. The problem is that because of the fluctuance we cannot handle anymore those users left the company. Once you set the password for JIRA you can use it everlong. Is it possible to implement a password policy which prompt you to change password e.g. in every 3 months?

Thanks in advance for your advise!

Best regards,
Rumi

Hi Rumi,

Another alternative that you could use is to implement Crowd for your environment. However, please note that Crowd password policy only work for Internal Directory users only as mentioned here:

Currently the feature of password expiry is not available yet as explain in this feature request https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-2740

However please do let the developer know (by commenting on the feature request ticket) which are more important so that they can get some idea of which ones customers would like us to look at first.
