I have multiple users that automatically have a JIRA individual added to their Outlook contacts. So, anytime sending a brand new e-mail to this individual, a new JIRA ticket is created.
How is this happening? And how do I prevent this from occurring?
It sounds like they are getting emails from a JIRA system and the email client is set to create the new contact. Sending to that contact is then being picked up by a "mail handler" in JIRA which is configured to set up new issues.
You'll need to have a look at your email handlers, and then decide what you really want to happen when people mail your JIRA system.
