Original time estimate is set incorrectly

Øyvind Rogne February 6, 2020

I set the original estimate to for example "10h", but "original estimate" is showing as "1d 2h".

Why is this incorrect?

Hello @Øyvind Rogne ,

Contact your system administrator to modify the time display format.

Hi @Øyvind Rogne,

Can you check your Time tracking settings in the global administration > Issues > Time tracking? You can choose the time display format:

I assume you're currently set on Days instead of Hours.

Hope this helps,

Hi @Øyvind Rogne

by default, Jira uses the "pretty" time display format to display the estimate and other time-related fields. Additionally, Jira assumes 8 working hours per day.

Both configurations can be changed in the Time tracking settings of your Jira.

Best, Max
