MS SQL server 2012 for JIRA 7.6 testing, I wonder what would be the correct order to restart SQL Server services ?
Please advise.
Jira depends on SQL server being up in order to operate. So if I have to restart the SQL service/server, I would just make sure to stop Jira first. If you don't do this, then I would expect to see all kinds of errors in Jira itself. Those might just be temporary, but Jira is always expecting to have access to the SQL database. So to suddenly take it offline is not something Jira is especially well built to cope with.
After SQL has been restarted and is back up and running, then you should be able to start Jira successfully.
Thank you , Andrew, I will pass over to IT team.
