Picture a daily, operational checklist that an analyst prints out and checks the boxes as they go down the list. Maybe that item has a value they type in. At the end of the day, the checklist goes in a file as evidence that the steps were followed. The checklist if printed out and replayed the next day.
I'd like to move this into Jira because we have it installed locally. There are some "nice to have" things that would add value:
1. That checklist has a three-ring binder with several pages of 'how to' steps/screenshots for each item in the checklist. Having the relevant 'how to' information linked to each step would do away with the binder and make upkeep easier.
2. Most steps have a value the user enters that relates to the task. Sometimes, that value is the result of a mathematical formula. It would be nice if the 2-3 inputs could be on the task and it would calculate the product.
3. The Jira UI is information rich, but a simple, clean interface is preferred. If it's a fact of life, so be it.
I've found all kinds on RPA, BPA..., but there isn't really workflow (if/then logic, moving between teams, review/authorization...) to this and we're not ready to dive into a whole automation effort. An older post mentioned "The Scheduler" to create a list.
Does anyone have some guidance on where to look?
There are a number of third party apps that bring this kind of functionality to Jira. Take a look at two I found after a quick Google:

We do our checklists typically in confluence and have templates associated with it.
This could be a custom field with a multiselect in jira. It just wouldn't display very cleanly unless you were in edit mode.
