Open external links(Bitbucket, Confluence, Google sheet) in New Window with just single click?

Hello Atlassian,

Please let me know about a setting in Jira which would allow me to open external links (Bitbucket, Confluence, Google sheet) in a new window rather than open in the existing window. This is quite annoying for users who expect to open the external link in a new window but it opens up in the existing window abruptly losing sight of the information around the external link within the jira page.

Please help with this setting.

There is no setting that would allow for that.  Atlassian's current advice is to teach people to use right-click when they don't want to follow a hyperlink in the current window.
