On Hold Automation

Hello,

How I should set an automation that will execute a transition to all sub-tasks [that their status isn't On Hold / Done] to On Hold whenever its parent transitioned to On Hold?

I've added two images: one is the automation rule itself, and the second is the log.

If I have at least one sub-task that isn't part of the relevant statuses that I've settled, it is blocked, however, the automation must execute a transition only for issues that aren't done (or already On Hold).

Thanks!

Hello @Sagi Gueta

According to your second screenshot, the error comes from the "Open" status not having a transition to "On Hold." So i can suggest two solutions:

  1. Create more conditions depending on the current status of subtask , then transition the ticket to the correct workflow (for example: for "Open," it needs to be transitioned to "In Progress" then "On Hold").
  2. This solution need jira admin right Create a transition of type "All" -> "On Hold" with a condition (user in group )  that ( the automation actor is member ) of can use.

Hope this can help you :)

Hey Duc Thang,

Unfortunately that's not the case, as it's possible to transition from all statuses to On Hold already.

However you're right about the logs, because they're not updated to the last version of the automation rule as I've added another branch that clares "do nothing" when issues on statuses "Done" or "On Hold". It didn't help so I've removed the branch..
