Notifications in Jira Service Desk

I am currently evaluating Jira service desk (OnDemand) and looking at the different functions.

I would like to send an auto-reply to the e-mailaddress that send the issue (Issue coming through a mail handler) when a new issue is created. Currently I see only the opportunity to send such a mail to people registered as a Jira user.

Is it only possible to send this mail if the sender is a Jira user or do I overlook something?

You can use our add on to send notifications from SD on the cloud based on issue_created event. Add-on is available here:
