Notification Scheme sends emails when its not supposed to

Matthew Taylor November 2, 2017

I have created a new Notification Scheme for a Service Desk project, and set it to not notify anyone of any updates, changes, creations, comments, anything and it still is sending emails any time the issue is updated. I then went in and removed all notifications from the default notification scheme and it is still sending out emails when the issue is updated. Do these schemes even work? Can someone please help me out? We want people to not get ANY notifications from JIRA, and to just subscribe to custom filters in order to get their notifications, but I cant get them to stop!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Matt,

Try the notification helper, selecting a user that is getting notifications and an issue in the project.

I have done that and it says "this user wont receive any notifications"... but they still do.

Take a look at customer notifications in the project.

ahh I think this might be it. I didn't know that there were notification and a separate customer notifications rule as well. I will mess with these but I'm pretty sure this is my problem. Thanks so much!!

Are they getting service desk emails, or Jira event emails?
