Not seeing avatar in assignee field

IT.Admin December 14, 2018

I'm new to the cloud version of Jira and somewhat new to Jira admin. I've setup a scrum board for our project and have pretty much left everything as default. I'm used to seeing the user avatar show up in the assignee field, but what I'm getting right now is the default blue and white user icon so I can't see who's assigned to what in the backlog nor in the active sprints. How do I change this to display the avatar?

For example one of our users avatars is purple with the initials MK. I want that icon to display in the assignee field instead of the blue on white generic user icon.

Hi Garrett,

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!
Currently, the blue icon is the default avatar for all users and customers that didn't add any picture on their profiles.
This default avatar is not possible to change, but we have feature requests suggesting the implementation of this ability:
- https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-4374
Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the features.

Regards,
Angélica
