Non-destructive import from standalone JIRA to OnDemand

Thomas Mayfield March 24, 2014

I've set up a JIRA OnDemand instance, and went ahead and created some projects there and got them filled in and scheduled.

Now, I want to migrate the rest of my data from a hosted/standalone JIRA instance into OnDemand, in addition to what's already in the OnDemand instance. When I used the importer tool, it indicated that configuration would be reset, attachments deleted, and issues cleared.

Is there any way to append a bunch of tickets, attachments, and comments to an OnDemand instance? Like the project importer for standalone?

Hi Thomas,

There is no Project Import on OnDemand. Since there is one in Jira Standalone and you already have one working, I suggest: export the OnDemand content, import to your local instance using Project Import and then export Full Jira to finally import in OnDemand.

Here is the OnDemand documentation about Importing Data

Cheers,
Mauro
