No option available to install Redmine Importer Plugin

Deleted user January 10, 2018

Hi,

Created a trial account to import our existing Redmine tickets.

When successful, we'll migrate our 50+ users from Redmine to Jira.

But so far we're stuck on step 1, sollowing the steps documented in https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/importing-data-from-redmine-938847599.html

We can't install Jira Importers Plugin, neither the Redmine Importer Plugin since there is no option available to upload a plugin to install.

And the plugin is also not available on the market place.

How can we install this plugin?

Managed to attempt to upload the plugins by enabling 'Enable private listings' , though now it seems the Redmine imported plugin is not compatible ?!

So is it actually possible to migrate from Redmine to Jira?

It is possible, but the Redmine imported is no longer supported or maintained, so I don't think you'll be able to get far with Cloud.  It's quite frustrating to see yet another importer deprecated when Atlassian are trying to get more people on to Cloud.

I'd install an older version of Jira server, with a supported importer, run the imports, upgrade the version to the latest and then migrate server to cloud.

It's either that or writing custom code to do the work.
