Need to transfer JIRA data to the cloud version

Mark Mecklem January 30, 2013

We have been using JIRA on our own servers and would like to transfer the historical data from our servers to the cloud version of JIRA. We only want to transfer certain projects. What is the best way to do that?

Mark, by the cloud version of JIRA, I think you're referring to the JIRA OnDemand version, correct? If so, I have to tell you that it's not possible to perform project imports on it. Having said that, I believe the best way of making this transition would be taking a full backup of your local JIRA and importing it in JIRA OnDemand, then delete all the projects you don't need/want, leaving only the ones you want.

Hope it helps!

How would I do the reverse? We have projects in the ondemand version of Jira with Jira Agile and want to transfer them to a local Jira with Jira Agile
