Hi,  Is there a way to have a JIRA test instance that has all the projects, workflows, issue types, etc,etc but not the issue data.

We want everything but the actually tickets in the project.  We want the project to be blank.

Maybe another way of doing this is clone / copy the project?  not sure if that works.

Hey Lance,

One of the alternatives you have is to anonymise the XML backup you create from your Production JIRA, before importing it into the Staging Environment.
Please, see this documentation to better understand the process to achieve it.

The anonymiser currently replaces the following text with x's:

  • Issue summary, environment, and description.
  • Comments, work logs, change logs.
  • Project descriptions.
  • Descriptions for most elements (notification schemes, permission schemes, resolutions).
  • Attachment file names.
  • "Unlimited text" custom fields.

I hope it helps! smile
