Need to Change Access URL of JIRA with User Friendly Name

Hello AA

I am planning to change the url which is used to connect to JIRA with a User Friendly Name. Presently we connect using http://<SERVER_NAME>:8080 to access JIra ..

I want to have http://JIRA-PROD.companyname.net:8080 .

So to achive this should i change the BASE URL in the Global Setting options of the Administrative tab in JIRA or do i have to do anything else ?
