Need a report that shows isues worked on during specfic time period

I need a report that shows all the issues where work was done each week and each month. I hacked one together using Updated dates but that catches everything where any field gets edited. I really need one that just catches edits to the "Time Spent" field but I can't figure out a way to do that. DHas anyone figured out how to create this report? It seems like something a lot of people would want to know.

JQL Tricks plugin, a commercial plugin, has a workLoggedBetween method where you can use absolute or relative dates.
