I noticed in the JIRA support Dashboard the Issues query is a basic" Project of CSP"

How do other customers get screened out of the CSP project? We need a setup where only external customers are in project "Externa" can view their own records. JIRA has the name project CSP but all other fields show "ALL"

Do we have to setup a project for each customer?

Community Leaders are connectors, ambassadors, and mentors. On the online community, they serve as thought leaders, product experts, and moderators.

Actually, I'm not sure they do. It looks more like "Reporter Browse" permission than security schemes.

See https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Current+Reporter+Browse+Project+Permission

Note that this is a LOT easier than using security schemes, as you don't need to set a field to do the work on every single issue. You enable it, and then use it in the permission scheme and do nothing else.

Security schemes require you to fill in a security level before they work.

They do it by using Issue Securiy Schemes. The scheme only allows reporters and user picker custom fields to view issues. I.e., only reporters and people added can view that their own issues.
