Multi-word labels possible

Is it possible to create a custom field using the 'label' type that allows more than one word in a label.

Jira seems to interpret space as a label delimiter.

yes, use dash '-' ;)

You cannot quote labels (but you should). I.e. "bla1 bla2" is interpreted right now like two labels "bla1 and bla2" (quotes included). That's an impr you should ask.
