Missing Notification

Tuan Vo August 16, 2012

Hi all,

I set the notification to send out to project admin role when creating issues.

Then I make 3 users to be project admin.

On creating, only 2 of them received email.

I tried with different numbers, always miss 1 email.

Is there some where I should have a look, please?

I am using Jira 4.4.3

Thanks alot.

Tuan Vo.

Hey Tuan Vo,

Since 2 out of 3 users are receiving notifications, then perhaps this could be related to some configuration. Things that we can check:
- Notification Scheme: Ensure that the notification scheme is configured to send notifications to all 3 users
- User groups/project role: Ensure that all 3 of the users are listed in the group, which group is configured to receive the notification
- Permission Scheme: Ensure that all 3 of the users are able to browse the project, where the notifications are triggered for

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the quick response, Ahmad.

Here's what I configured:

1. In Permission Scheme:

"Project admin" (role) has Browse Projects permission

2. In Project home page > People tab

"Project admin" (role) has 3 members

3. In Notification Scheme

Issue Created (Event) has Notification Receiver as "Project admin" (role)

Then only 2 of 3 users in item "2." received the email.

Can all the mentioned users acces the corresponding issue?

Unfortunately you are not on JIRA 5, otherwise you could use the JIRA Admin Helper plugin to track down the problem.

do they have valid email adresses? Could you go to JIRA Admininstartion -> System -> Mail -> Send Email and try to send a mail to that Project role?

As your just in that section please do check the email queue and error queue, just in case...

Tuan Vo August 16, 2012

Oh that would be a good experience.

Let me try these checking and let you know the result

Tuan Vo August 16, 2012

Yes, they are all able to login, see the issue, edit, navigate it through workflows.

Tuan Vo August 16, 2012

I am back.

I tried sending email to the project role from JIRA Admininstartion -> System -> Mail -> Send Email

It successes.

Then I tried the scenarios as original problem. It works.

Imagine!

Finally, thanks for your support, Ahmad and David.
