Migration of an old Jira Server with expired license to Cloud

Erik M October 2, 2019

Hi,

We would like to migrate our Jira server (v7.3.1#73012) and Confluence Server (v6.2.0) to Cloud but our servers have expired licenses and have outdated versions which are not supported by migration to Cloud.

Is the only option to pay for a Server licenses just for the purpose of to-cloud migration? We are pretty fine with the our unsupported version but still we would prefer to migrate to cloud and do not want to loose our old data.

Is there a migration tool for (somehow safe) transfer of the old version data into most recent Cloud version? Or what is the best way to migrate server data to Cloud in such case?

Thank you

Hi Erik M,

Have you tried to generate a Trial License for your products and them perform the application upgrade before to migrate the content to Cloud?

You can just create an Evaluation License and migrate - this license provides you everything that a normal license provides.
