Migrating to locally installed version

Greg Fischer January 10, 2013

Hello,

I have a hosted version setup for my group. It includes Jira, Confluence, and Fisheye with SVN. I would like to purchase and setup an essentially idenical setup on our servers in house (we will upgrade to 25 users). However, I am confused as to the repository hosting, management, and viewing.

Is the SVN or GIT repository part of the install package? I believe I would like to switch to GIT while we are at it. I would like to be able to have the same control I have now (with hosted fisheye & svn) for directory level access control as well as the online viewing of code and revision history.

Any help you can give on what we need to set up the system would be great. I really want to get this transition done by early next week.

Thanks a lot,

Greg

I do not believe that the repositories are part of the install package. You will have to migrate it yourself.

As for moving from SVN to Git, check out this blog from Atlassian itself:

You'd probably need to check up on the migration documentations & the products own installation documentations. Windows and Linux servers do have slightly different steps. Also, you will need a database installed.
