Migrating Jira to New Server - License not working

Migrating Jira to new production server, Jira 5.1.5, can't log in because license is to old.

error message: The current license is too old to install this version of Jira (5.1.5) You cannot access Jira at present

I tried to install a temporary license, but it doesn't even recognize my username or password anymore.

please help!

After a migration, this usually appears when you have an external user directory and your new instance can't communicate with it.

To fix this, you need to use a local user to change the license. If you are not sure which user is the administrator in your internal userbase, forgot the password or even don't have one, you can follow this documentation:
