Hi,
We are currently in the process of setting a new instance of Jira. Is it possible to migrate the Boards from our old instance over to our new one ?
Thanks,
Hi @Harrison Wakeman ,
Assuming that you are migrating to cloud - if your boards are attached to a single project: yes. However, boards across multiple projects cannot be migrated automatically. You will need to set them up again in your cloud instance after migrating your projects.
For a detailed overview on what gets migrated and what doesn't with the cloud migration assistant, see this support article.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the response. Actually this is from a server instance to a Datacentre instance. Do the same rules apply as they would if migrating to the cloud ?
Thanks,
Harrison

I am not sure if you are trying to merge sites or just switch an existing site from server to DC. If it is the last you are trying to do, all there is to it is updating your license keys (in place).
If you need to merge instances, you can indeed migrate boards, but you should use a migration tool to assist you in the process. See this support article for more information.

We have two servers one is our current live instance which is v7.8.0 (server) and another server which we're looking to replace it with which is v8.11.1 (data centre) and we don't have Project Configurator so I've been using the Backup System option within Import and Export.
Thanks for your help
