Migrate from Jira 3.6.5 to 6.x

James Wilson October 26, 2014

Sorry to be asking this - I've read through the documentation and it's no doubt been covered before but I just need to get some kind of definitive process as there seem to be several ways to potentially accomplish this (newbie to JIRA administration).

I understand that i will have to migrate to an interim version 4.4.5 before going straight to 6.x - i have a bespoke workflow, notification schema etc.

Any help much appreciated.

thanks

James

Follow the route laid out at https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Upgrading+JIRA and you'll be fine.

You have the correct idea.

Just make sure your plugins also have support in the 6.x releases.
