How can I make a comment screen mandatory whenever the due date changes in any issue?

Hi @Büşra Öztürk ,

For this you can create an automation rule, whenever a Due Date field value changes, add a comment in Jira having old date and new date.

OR

You can remove Due Date field from Edit Screen and keep it on transition screen. On transition screen make both the field mandatory. In this way, user will enter due date if empty and add comments.

Without plugin, it's not feasible to make mandatory on value change.

Hi @Büşra Öztürk ,

Welcome to Community :)

As mentioned there are two ways

Option 1:

Automation: But this would mean a fixed comment every time a value is changed in the due date

Option 2: This would only if someone transitions issue

- Create a new screens ( settings >issues > screens)

- Screen name example ( comment due date screen)

- Add due date to the screen

- add this screen to every transition in the workflow

- so whenever an issue is a transition due date and comment need to be filled

- You can also add a field required validator for due date

Thank You,
