Making a READ-ONLY user for a Jira on-premise product

I have an employee I want to give Read-Only access to everything Jira in my on-premise Jira product installation.

Hi @Donna Grare ,

you need to provide application access to your employee (https://confluence.atlassian.com/confeval/other-atlassian-evaluator-resources/managing-application-access) and provide just "Browse Project" permission on all your projects.

Fabio - I do not have a group that is R/O to add them to. I have jira-administrator, jira-developers and jira-software.  I do not see where I can add a new group and call it jira-readonly

Hi @Donna Grare ,

please read this guide in order to create a local group with JIRA ( https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/view-create-or-delete-a-group-938847038.html ). After doing that you can add your user to your group and go ahead with other tasks.
