I have a question, maybe you guys can help me.
I want to migrate the DB of Jira from MS SQL 2008 to MS SQL 2016.
I know that the DB collation itself needs to be case insensitive (SQL_Latin1_General_CP437_CI_AI or Latin1_General_CI_AI).
Do I also need to configure the DB server/instance collation itself to be case insensitive?
The DB server itself has collation Latin1_General_CI_AS. Can I keep it this way and change the new Jira DB collation only?
I have already tested this in our development environment, Jira is running fine on the new DB with the collation (only on JIRA DB level), but I don't know if this will cause problems in the future.
