Lost Ability to Assign Tickets Edited

I used to be able to assign tickets to members of the Service Desk Team and now I am unable.  I can only assign a ticket to myself or Automatic which does not do anything.  Any suggestions?

Please check (or ask admin to do so) the permissions- project settings > permissions.

Hi @Area 43 Technology welcome to the Atlassian community.

From your query there are lot of missing details to be able to answer. Kindly check:

  1. Have you moved to new project?
  2. When is the last time in the same project, you were able to assign tickets?
  3. Are you using a trial Jira version and now upgraded to paid version?
  4. What board settings have you checked and or explored before this issue arises?
  5. Have you checked if your permissions are revoked internally on the Jira tool?

The above are few questions to be looked upon to address your query.
