Looking for advice on hybrid solution

Greetings,

Currently at the start of a project regarding hybrid solution. We're looking to get Jira-SD on a local server while getting Confluence in the cloud, are there any known delay issues regarding this solution? We currently have Jira Software in the cloud hosted on NA servers, while being in the EU and notice some delay while sending requests within the application.

Are there any known issues between VPN and a cloud confluence?

Chris - one thing I can think of is that your JIRA-SD on your local server should be accessible via WWW if you want to link from Confluence cloud pages to it - if this is not necessary VPN (and not accessible via WWW) should work fine.
