is the following possible: to login to JIRA ServiceDesk the user can use their username + their domain
So, our students have a student number as a username, for example 165894. On our other services they login using firstname.lastname@example.org (where cssd.ac.uk is the domain name).
Now email@example.com is NOT their email address.
For ease of use and consistency, I would like allow them to login using firstname.lastname@example.org
Is this possible?
There are two ways of doing it, you could use the internal JIRA user directory and manually grant users access and that way control the user ID, but that would also mean a separate password. The other option would be to use Crowd, since Crowd allows you to setup user aliases in different applications connected to Crowd.
