Logged effort is not appearing in the Time spent field

Hi,

I am using the workload pie gadget in JIRA. I have configured it for assignee and on Time spent. However, if time spent field is empty but aggregate time spent field has some values, the chart doesn't pick it up. My question is:

1. In what scenario is time spent field is empty and Aggregate time spent field has values?

2. Is there a way to configure Workload pie chart on aggregate time spent?

I realized that I need to have sub-tasks in the filter to allow the gadget to pick up the time spent from the sub-tasks of the stories. Time spent field just picks the time logged on the story and not on its sub-tasks, while Aggregate time spent picks everything.

ideally, workload pie should allow aggregate time spent as one of the option.
